Ars Tantra Society is a non-commercial cultural project. This website does not sell products, does not process payments, and does not build user profiles for advertising or commercial purposes.
We do collect personal data in a few specific places, and only when you choose to give it: the contact form, the guest references form, a request to stay, and the newsletter sign-up. Each of these is described in its own section below — what is collected, where it goes, and how long it stays. Everything else we gather is anonymous, aggregated analytics, and only if you accept the cookie banner.
We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers or data brokers, and never use it to build a profile of you.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
GA4 uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — to collect aggregated, anonymised information about how visitors navigate the site. No cookie is set and no tracking occurs unless you explicitly accept via the banner shown on your first visit.

This data is processed and stored by Google on servers that may be located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google's processing is governed by its own Privacy Policy.

If you write to us at info@arstantra.org, your message lives in our mailbox like any other email, and nowhere else.
Why we may process it: to answer you, which is what you asked us to do.
How long we keep it: for as long as the conversation is alive, and then in our mail archive. Ask us and we will delete it.
If you leave a reference, the name, place and words you write are published in the References section of the home page — that is the whole point of them. Nothing appears until we have read and approved it.
References are stored in Airtable (Formagrid Inc., United States), reached through a server-side function on our own site so that no access key is ever exposed in your browser.
The email address field is optional and private. It is never displayed on the site, never sent to anyone, and exists only so that we can write back to you. Leave it blank if you would rather we could not.
Why we may process it: your consent, given by ticking the box before you send.
How long we keep it: for as long as the reference is published. Ask us and we will remove it.
The application form linked from the Stay page is a Google Form, and the answers land in a Google Sheet in our own Google account. Both are services of Google Ireland Limited. We ask for your name, your email address, a phone number and the channel you prefer (so that we can speak before confirming a visit), the city and country you live in, your age range — never your date of birth — the languages you speak, a link to at least one online profile of your choice (a social network, a personal website or a hospitality platform such as BeWelcome or Couchsurfing), when and how long you would like to visit and with how many people, how you found us, a confirmation that you are eighteen or over, and a few open questions about who you are and what draws you here.
Those open questions are exactly that — open. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. We do not ask for, and do not want, information about your health, your sexual orientation, your religion or your political views. If you write something of that kind anyway, we treat it as given freely and in confidence, we do not index or analyse it, and you can ask us to delete it at any moment.
Applications are read only by Andrea and Beatrice. They are never published, never forwarded, and never used for anything other than deciding together whether a visit makes sense.
Why we may process it: your consent, given when you submit the form.
How long we keep it: up to 24 months after your application, so that we remember a conversation if you come back to us. Sooner, on request.
The Journal page offers a sign-up to our newsletter. Typing your address there does not subscribe you: it carries you to Substack (Substack Inc., United States), where you complete the sign-up yourself and where your address is then held. Their handling of it is governed by Substack's own privacy policy. You can unsubscribe from the foot of any email we send.
This site is hosted by Netlify (Netlify Inc.). Like any web server, it records technical access logs that include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. These logs are not used to identify visitors.
The Stay page embeds a Google Calendar showing only whether the nest is free or occupied — no names, no details. Because the calendar is loaded from Google's servers, opening that page contacts Google directly, and Google may set its own cookies. If you would rather it did not, most browsers allow you to block third-party content.
This site contains no advertising, no affiliate links, and no tracking pixels for commercial purposes. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers. Ever.
Some of the services above — Airtable, Substack, Google — process data on servers that may sit outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Those transfers rely on the safeguards each provider has put in place, principally the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. If this matters to you, a plain email to us keeps your data within an ordinary mailbox.
If we make meaningful changes to how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the date below. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
